Healing Through Connection and Creativity

Expressive art therapies bring us into contact with parts of ourselves that cannot be expressed through words alone, allowing us to give space to aspects of ourselves that may be difficult to access or verbalize otherwise. Finding and connecting with these parts of ourselves through creative processes can lead to movement, discoveries, play, and a sense of homecoming.

Most important is your sense of possibility during our sessions: the possibility of trying something new, seeing something differently and understanding yourself in a new way. If you love to play with language, your stories, puns, and metaphors are welcome. For some, language is exhausting; if you prefer less talking and more drawing, sandplay, sharing the songs you’ve got on loop, or the memes that made you laugh today (because they really express how you are feeling) we will.

This is especially true for neurodivergent clients. Together, we are searching for the conditions that will feel most safe from which to explore. This includes both physical and emotional comfort. A supportive environment that considers your needs and begins from a place of comfort leaves more energy for exploration.
